The Aare River is the longest river in the Swiss Alps. It falls from the Grimsel region and crosses the deep canyon, up to 200meter deep Aare ravine. The river Aare flows on toward Brienz, where it reaches into Lake Brienz, and then to Lake Thun at Interlaken. Passenger boats available including a historic paddlewheel steamer.
